A Member’s Rendition of the
AGM
AGM 2005
The AGM came round on the 9th April. This time it was different
for
me as it was my first time on council and I had to give
my circle’s report. Funnily enough this was the thing
I’d most dreaded all year, and when the time came
it really wasn’t that scarey! The meeting ran very
smoothly and the venue, new to me, worked very well. This
year all the new council and non council post-holders gave
a spiel about themselves. I think this was a great success
and was a good lead in to the new year…
We followed our meeting with a very enjoyable curry lunch.
A lot of us stayed to share a really cosy meal sitting round
two big tables. Laughter and chat and a good friendly atmosphere…
The Gala dinner at Palazzo Parisio was a roaring success,
well supported by members and their partners. Good food,
good music, wine, entertaining speeches all contributed
to the evening’s success. Three men treated us to
a dance the like of which kept us laughing! Fun was had
by all. Wish Kathleen and her new council lots of luck,
friendship etc in the forthcoming year.
