views can be seen from all windows and from the balcony of the flat.
Views of Mellieha Bay, the Mellieha church and Ta Pennellu area.
A welcome pack is offered free on arrival, which includes milk,
sugar, tea, slice bread, eggs, salt, pepper and butter. Flat linen
is changed weekly and kitchen and bath towels are changed weekly,
this is a free service. Taxi & self drive cars are available
from local permitted garage. Parking area in front of apartment
is available.
Deposit and
information regarding the number of persons, name, address and
flight details is required. A receipt is given on full payment
in cash (deposit in Euro or Maltese). Keys are given on arrival
by landlady and must be returned to her before departure. The
flat should be kept in good condition. Lost, broken or damaged
items will be charged for and have to be paid before departure.
Bookings are
accepted with at least 2 weeks notice before arrival date.
The flat is
close to 2 banks being HSBC & Bank of Valletta, shopping centre,
restaurants, telephone booth, police and ferry transport.
Landlady speaks and writes Italian and English.
Flat can be used for monthly holidays from 1 to 3 months. Children
under 7 years are free of charge.

| Lace
Making
 The
art of lace making started way back in the fifteenth
century were it was first used to embellish ceremonial
dresses and vestments. It soon proved to be very popular
and spread throughout Europe. The Knights of Malta
brought introduced this art to Malta in the seventeenth
century. The most famous lace in the Maltese Islands,
that from the Island of Gozo, was first intrdouced
by a priest who brough oer a peice of lace which was
based upon the Genoese style of lace making. This
was brought down by a Gozitan lady who studied the
process and also taught other ladies the process.
This soon spread all over the Island and new patterns
were introduced. The initial patterns were designed
on a pillow using a number of bobbins and from this
the name Pillow Lace Making is derived. However, as
new patterns and threads were introduced such as the
eight point Maltese Cross, Gozitan lace derived its
own distinctive style. Today pillow lace is considered
to be the masterpeice of the craft.
